Louisa Harding, our guest speaker, is a designer who uses the medium of handknitting to create fashion garment designs. She trained as a textile designer for the fashion industry specializing in knitwear and has worked in the industry for almost 20 years. Her first designs were published by Rowan yarns in 1989, while she was still a student.
During her presentation Louisa will take you through her career, from when she first learned to knit at age 6 up to the present day. She will describe how she was given the opportunity of launching her own line of yarns in 2005 and how she always works from a creative inspiration source to develop every yarn and design collection.
Louisa will bring with her garments to illustrate her creative development process and there will be the opportunity to play dress up after the presentation and have your Louisa Harding books signed.
